Wedding Videography Shot Checklist

This is a great starting point for our conversation about creating your wedding film.

Must Have Shots

These shots are the highlights of every wedding and we’ll work to capture every moment.  During our preparation process, we’ll have a thorough understanding of how your day will unfold and where we need to be to capture these life changing moments.

  • Groom waiting at altar
  • Processional with bride’s entrance
  • Reciting vows
  • First kiss as married couple
  • Recessional
  • First dance
  • Cake cutting
  • Bouquet toss

Preparation shots

Some can be captured ahead of time, but some require good planning and staging.  We’ll work with your team, especially your photography team, to capture all of the moments important to you

  • Bride and bridesmaids getting ready
  • Exterior shot of the church or venue
  • Interior wide shot of the church or venue
  • Altar
  • Flowers
  • Wedding program
  • Groom and ushers hanging out
  • Pinning boutonniere on groom

The Ceremony

While some videographers feel this is the hardest part of the event, we thrive at mult-camera live productions.  We’ll use multiple cameras, wireless mics and whatever other technology we need to ensure we have great views of the ceremony including the bride and groom’s faces, walking down the aisle, first kiss and other moving moments.

  • Guests being escorted down the aisle.
  • Guests sitting, reading programs and talking.
  • Family members entering the venue or church.
  • Father kissing the bride and handing off to groom.

The Reception

Here’s where the fun really kicks off!  We’ll work with your DJ to grab great audio, your venue to understand how you’ll enter and your decorations team to make sure we know all of the parts that are most important to you.  We’ll grab a wide selection of shots including:

  • Exterior shot of reception site
  • Guests signing guest book
  • Receiving line
  • Guests enjoying cocktail hour
  • Centerpieces, table tags and place settings
  • Gift table
  • Guest favors
  • Blessing
  • Toasts
  • First dance of couple
  • Parent dances
  • Cake cutting
  • Bouquet toss
